Matt is the Man! One of my personal favourites!

There is not one single time when i watch this clip that i dont feel touched. Go and travel the World, see so many places, so many different locations, so many different people. And find in the end that they are all the same - they all dance!
As far as i can see, this clip does more to fight racism and intolerance than 1000 speeches. Trully inspiring.

Where the Hell is Matt?!

Only in America!

This has to be one of the best weeks for Obama since he became President. It started with the confirmation that indeed he was born in the USA and could therefore continue doing the job for which millions of Americans have elected him. The President having to show his birth certificate to the public… only in America! It continued with the Correspondents Dinner at the White House where Obama got another chance to show off his stand-up comedy skills. Obviously he has great speechwriters working for him but his comedy timing and his reactions are those of a professional. The comments directed at Donald were brilliant but the highlight has to be the birth video. The President himself announcing his birth video and showing a clip of the Lion King…. only in America!

And then the greatest electoral trump: the killing of Osama Bin Laden. 11 years have passed since OBL was identified as enemy number 1 of America and the free world; Afghanistan was invaded to replace the OBL friendly government and to force him into hiding; 2 American administrations have used all possible resources to find one man. Finally all of it produced results; OBL was located, identified and killed.

Two things have been amazing me in the past couple of days. The first is the doubts about the death of OBL. The second is the celebrations in America and other places. I proceed to explain. How can people seriously question the truth of Obama’s declaration? I mean, the man just proved he was not a liar by showing the world his birth certificate! No, but really, do people really need to see the dead body to believe OBL is dead? Were they used to see him when he was alive?! Because I wasn’t, and if I didn’t question his living credentials last week, why would I now when the American administration has announced his killing? It’s not a very smart move to make a whole circus about it without having really killed him, especially not long before elections! In any case I’m pretty sure that in the next couple of days we will see official pictures of the dead body, to finally silence those obsessed with conspiracy theories. Maybe it was the Mossad, after all they have the Eichmann experience!...

But what amazes me the most is the celebrations that were reported after the announcement of OBL´s death. I agree that the man was a danger for everyone, that we are all maybe better off with him dead than alive. But celebrate someone´s death on the streets seems to me like a step too far. To announce that OBL´s death meant a “great day for America” is to me hard to grasp. We are better than that, we stand for higher values than those. Wishing someone´s death is already highly questionable, celebrating someone´s death is just wrong and shameful. Taking the streets to celebrate a man´s death… only in America!
